“Design, Create and Color outside of the Lines”
Exert from my novel, “Hearing Colors: The Birth of Anniston
Deemed powerless by married judge, Zieg Davenport, adopted rebel Anacelia becomes a victim of being the other woman. Told through the emotional restraints of her new role, Anacelia expresses how hard it is for the other woman to be the soul mate. The contrast of his baby blue eyes and dark skin holds her attention hostage, a trait that is responsible for his nickname-Baby. Anni gets caught in Baby's world where romance meets intensity. Her mind, body and soul are at war but sexuality steps in to win. Her mindset is unsettling from her previous relationship with her drug smuggling friend turned boyfriend. Her focus depends on Baby. The desire to be with this man overcomes the torment that the people around her are going through. Baby may have been just what she needed to reach her full potential. This passion is the fuel that drives her to loyalty and dedication. Together they can conquer anything, but his wife still plays a major role in his life. Things heighten as Anni welcomes her old friend Jax into this triangular affair of the heart. The past accepts the invitation into the present. Who knows what her future holds? Strap on your seat belts and accompany Anni to an unforeseen destination. In this story, she will struggle with confusion, self- identity and maintaining her sanity as the other woman. Therefore, she ceases her relationship with Baby. She depends on her design business to be her mask, hiding behind her love of music and art to create a variant way of passion. She uses art in every form as a tool to shovel through this dirty secret. This doesn't work as she misses Baby. Her mouth waters when she thinks of him and their trysting places. She is caught in a mental love triangle with tall, dark and handsome. Protect your hearts from this whirlwind of love and betrayal. "Hearing Colors" is a small tale to represent the struggles of a small town. The characters are depicted by the author as a melting pot of euphemisms describing the small town way of life.
